Beaujolais from MajesticWine is the perfect red wine to enjoy during the summer. The lighter reds are often best enjoyed chilled and make a great alternative to many rosé wines. The more serious Beaujolais wines from the cru rated villages make a wonderful accompaniment to barbecues or garden parties.

A recent "Manager's Choice" from MajesticWine was Moulin-â-Vent 'Les Bruyères' 2006 B. de Monceny; Showing a nose of bitter chocolate, cherries and a wonderfully constructed palate, this Beaujolais could easily be mistaken for a Pinot Noir. It is however, a good example of a Beaujolais cru famed for its fuller style and keeness to age. At this price we're really impressed by its complexity and length.

2001 was an exceptionally good vintage in Rioja. Drought in the previous year meant reduced yields, resulting in incredibly intense fruit flavours in the grapes. This Reserva shows complex aromas of ripe fruit, cedar and spice, which develop into a smooth, velvety palate with powerful dark fruit flavours, hints of coffee and an almost chocolatety richness. Excellent with lamb.

Côtes du Rhône Villages Sablet 2003, Domaine de Piaugier, at Majestic Wine Warehouse
This family-owned domaine combines 40 year old vines with good quality soils in the production of this Grenache dominated red. Their Sablet is a full-bodied wine with rich aromas of plum, black cherries and spice and a long peppery finish. It has not been subjected to any filtering to ensure optimum flavour is maintained.
