IIIB Merlot, Jean-Claude Mas 2006, Vin de Pays d'Oc, at Majestic Wine
The name, IIIB (Trois B) is the quality classification used by winemaker, Jean-Claude Mas. He designates his wines one to three, with three being the highest quality or Tete de Cuvée, and the letter B referring to Barrel Aged. Made from the fruit of 30 year old Merlot vines, the wine shows blackberry, raspberry and plum evolving toward mocha and toasted vanilla notes. Well structured and opulent, it is perfect with grilled meat, stew and game.
